Phoenix Suns release Statement Edition uniforms

After releasing two new uniforms earlier this summer, the Phoenix Suns finally show the third jersey in a major reveal with the rest of the NBA.

Leading up to the days before Sept. 15, 2017, the Phoenix Suns had been teasing a major reveal of a third alternative uniform the team will wear this upcoming season. As one of the Suns’ fans waiting to see what it could look like, the excitement was getting to me. Finally, during the evening hours of Sept. 15 the Suns, along with the rest of the NBA revealed their teams alternative uniforms and the Suns’ jersey could not be anymore perfect.

There were a good amount of quality alternative jerseys last night and the Suns had one of them. Here are a couple of closer looks at the Sun’s uniform.

Here is a little bit more convincing, if you do not believe me.

The Suns did a phenomenal job in creating this jersey. They named this uniform the Statement Edition and it is based on “Inspired By The Athlete’s Mindset”. This name and phrase goes along with the other two jersey released earlier this year with their names being Association and Icon Editions.

In a previous post, I discussed what this alternative uniform could look like. Besides black being the primary color, instead of orange as I predicted, this uniform came close to what I expected.

The primary color being black is a bold projection for the Suns. The orange and purple trim is also a solid edition. The numbering is orange with a metallic trim which is also nice, along with them flipping the colors for the “PHX” in the middle having metallic as a primary color with orange trim.

In my previous article, I stated that:

"The “PHX” in the middle of the Suns alternative jerseys during the Nash era made the team stand out whenever they wore them. Having the “PHX” certainly gives a revival to the team’s past glory and a strong symbol to stand by."

Overall, the uniform came together rather nicely and it’s a good compliment to the other two team uniforms as well.

Personally, I am very happy with the Phoenix Suns’ Statement Edition uniform and Suns fans should be as well. The Suns’ new uniforms will definitely help make the team’s regular season much more enjoyable.
