Everyone is ready for the season to start. We miss the OT thrillers and the 30 point comebacks. We miss the MVP-worthy performances and the triple-double masterpieces.

But most of all, we miss the competition. As NBA fans, it is ingrained in our DNA to love competition. It is hot-wired inside of us. We love to watch as our teams try to lay waste to the other 29 squads each every season. There is nothing that makes us feel more alive than a 4th quarter, game winning buzzer-beater over a fierce rival, or a posterizing jam on an opponent.

But alas, we are stuck in the offseason.

The brutal, seemingly unending, listless nature of the National Basketball Association offseason is something that every basketball fan is well aware of. For four months of the year (the middle of June through the middle of October) we are without NBA basketball. For four months of the year, we are without the fierce competition and the heated on-court battle for supremacy that basketball provides. Yes, for four months, we are stuck in no-man’s-land.

Fortunately, all is not lost. As an, admittedly poor, substitute for basketball, allow me to introduce this new series called the “Pacific Division Rankings”.

Throughout the series, we are going to rank certain elements of every team in the NBA’s Pacific Division (the Suns, Kings, Lakers, Clippers, and Warriors). So, even though we lack on-court competition, we can still manufacture it in a small way here: by ranking.

For the first installment of the Pacific Division Rankings series, we are going to take a look at the point guard position. Where will Eric Bledsoe rank among the Pacific Division’s best? Let’s find out.
