Dillon Brooks is widely regarded as one of the most outspoken players in the NBA, but Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg is coming for that mantle after taking a shot at Brooks himself.
Lendeborg hilariously tells Brooks he's going to "give Brooks belt man"
Yes, you read that correctly. Despite never playing a game in the league and already being 23 years old, Lendeborg took aim at the Canadian international by claiming that he's "finna give Dillon Brooks belt" during a recent stream.

Lendeborg will regret coming at Brooks so publicly. There's a reason we recently compared him to the great Shawn Marion in Phoenix. The 30-year-old is in his prime and, unlike Lendeborg, has perfected the craft of getting under the skin of opponents.
Nobody will ever forget how ill-advised it was to take shots at LeBron James early in his career with the Memphis Grizzlies, but these days Brooks has no problem giving LeBron his flowers while also turning up courtside at playoff games to literally laugh in his face. He's the ultimate trash-talker.
Brooks doesn't need any more motivation heading into the new season, and the great irony in all of this is how much Lendeborg would have loved playing alongside and being mentored by Brooks. He would be the perfect veteran to raise the floor of the remainder of the Stephen Curry era.
Brooks should be flattered by copycats entering NBA
Looking at Lendeborg's comments objectively, Brooks should be honored that younger guys are coming into the league and trying to make a name for themselves by acting the way that he once did towards established stars.
The fact that Brooks himself is the guy Lendeborg is going after is something he can likely appreciate even more. It is easy to mention players such as LeBron, Curry, or Anthony Edwards and have everybody notice. Brooks is not on their level talent or popularity-wise, but you know he's going to make Lendeborg's life extremely difficult when they do match up.
He won't admit it yet, but Brooks likely sees a lot of himself in the former Michigan Wolverine. He is going to be everything the Warriors need in a feisty rookie who takes every matchup seriously, which is how Brooks made a name for himself as a former second-round draft pick.
These seemingly throwaway comments add more spice to a matchup that the Suns should feel good about dominating this season as well.
While making the playoffs is far from guaranteed (shoutout to Tim MacMahon for believing), the Suns can feel confident that they are in a better spot than the Warriors and should win the regular season matchup against their division rivals. Let's check back in with Lendeborg when that happens. These comments won't faze Brooks one bit.
