Dillon Brooks hilariously reappears as Lakers' season goes up in flames

Back to his trolling best.

The Los Angeles Lakers saw their season end the same way as the Phoenix Suns on Monday, as they were swept out of contention by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Dillon Brooks appears courtside as Lakers go home

With LeBron James and company watching their campaign slip away, none other than Dillon Brooks was posted up under the basket, laughing at a former foe failing to scale the mountain once again.

This is peak Brooks that we haven't seen in a while. He has had a well documented back-and-forth with LeBron in the past, although the Canadian international has levelled up since then.

He's a much better player who doesn't need to get into it with superstars in order to make a name for himself, and yet showing up court side when he had no reason to is a timely return to the Brooks of old.

It doesn't matter that he was also swept by the Thunder mere weeks ago, being dunked on by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on social media in the process.

This was another chance to clap back at James, although the 41-year-old continues to fight off Father Time with his performances.

Should LeBron not call it a career this summer, then the next meeting between the two should be interesting.

Particularly if James is still with the Lakers, given their history with Phoenix which Brooks is all too aware of.

For those surprised that Brooks would go back to this kind of behavior, consider the many technical fouls he received this season.

Think also of that stare down that he does to opponents before some games, which had zero influence on their series with the Thunder.

But if you combine these antics with the fact he was the Suns' best player in a playoff series and made some ridiculously tough shots (with apologies to Devin Booker), then we could be looking at the most complete version of Brooks next season.

A guy who can give you 20 points a night, while also resorting to the kind of behavior that opponents and rival fans alike hate.

Or else Brooks was just there to support a friend in Gilgeous-Alexander, and we've gotten this all wrong.

Given the stakes, the players present and where he was positioned however, do you really think that was the case? Never change Dillon Brooks, your level of petty is exactly what the Suns need as they continue working towards true relevancy once more.
