The Phoenix Suns are set to tip off against the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder in the quarterfinals of the Emirates NBA Cup on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

The Suns (14-10) are coming off a gutsy road win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Thunder (23-1), meanwhile, have won 15 straight games. Their only loss so far this season was a Nov. 5 road game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

On the injury front, OKC’s star point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is dealing with bursitis in his left elbow. He did not play in Sunday’s game against the Utah Jazz. He joins teammates Alex Caruso (quad), Arizona State product Luguentz Dort (thigh), Isaiah Hartenstein (soleus strain) and Isaiah Joe (knee) being listed as game-time decisions for the NBA Cup showdown.

Book is listed as a game-time decision.

Suns vs Thunder prediction

The Suns continue to prove themselves among the grittiest teams in the NBA by staying competitive game-to-game regardless of who’s listed on the injury report.

They won their previous game against Minnesota on Monday night despite being without Booker and Green.

If Booker is able to return for the NBA Cup quarterfinal, that will be a huge boost for Phoenix.

That being said, the Thunder are on an absolute rampage this season. They’ve lost just one game to this point, were undefeated in NBA Cup play and have won 15 games in a row.

OKC won the previous meeting against the Suns by a score of 123-119.

If the Suns can pull the upset and advance to the NBA Cup semifinals, the league at large will be forced to take notice.

Prediction: Thunder win 121-113
