Devin Booker can put up big numbers on any given night for the Phoenix Suns and his 3-point shooting is a big reason why he can do so.
Phoenix Suns‘ franchise star Devin Booker claims his second straight player of the week award for the first week of March. Booker’s showing the league that he’s an elite player for this last stretch of the season. His elite 3-point shooting helped solidify him as the player of the week.

In the single digit loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Booker had his best game of the week. He finished the contest with 39 points, six rebounds, eight assists and one block, while making 16-28 of his field goal attempts and 6-10 of his 3-point attempts. This was his fourth consecutive game of at least 30 points.
Booker couldn’t hit the game winning shot in the one point loss to the Atlanta Hawks, but he did have a very solid game. He ended the game with 20 points, one rebound, 3 assists and one steal, while shooting 8-18 from the floor and 3-6 from behind the arc.
In the blowout defeat to the Miami Heat, Booker lead both teams in scoring during the contest. He had 31 points, two rebounds and five assists, while converting 12-22 shots from the field and 4-9 3-pointers. Since the All-Star break, Booker had at least 30 points in five out of eight games.
Honorable Mention
Small forward T.J. Warren has had a strong first week of March and has earned honorable mention because of it. In the three games that Warren played in to begin the month, he averaged 24.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.3 blocks and 0.3 steals.

Based on the 3-point shooting percentages from above, it’s clear that Booker got hot from behind the 3-point line for the first week of March. For the week he averaged 30.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.3 blocks and 0.3 steals, while shooting 52.0 percent on 3-point shots. If Booker continues to put up similar numbers for the Phoenix Suns, there’s a strong chance he will win every player of the week award for the rest of the season.
