Phoenix Suns fans shouldn’t expect too much of Danuel House
Signing Danuel House was the last part of a string of recent transactions for the Phoenix Suns. House is a solid player, but fans shouldn’t expect too much.
With the recent news of Mike James‘ having his two-way contract converted to a standard NBA contract, the Phoenix Suns had an extra two-way contract available. The franchise didn’t waste time and soon signed the former Rio Grande Vipers’ wing Danuel House to a two-way contract. It is yet to be seen what he can bring to Suns, but fans shouldn’t expect to see that much of House.
In two seasons in the G-League, House has show improvement and put up solid, if not impressive numbers.

Now it appears that he will be making trips between Phoenix and the Northern Arizona Suns. There is no doubt he will make an impact the NAZ Suns, but there is little chance he will see any legitimate playing time with Phoenix.

In regards to converting James’ contract, the Phoenix Suns decided to waive Derrick Jones Jr. so that they would have a roster spot for James. Jones was seldom used, because of the quality of depth on the wing. Granted the injuries to Devin Booker and Davon Reed does hurt the team’s depth, however the team still has plenty of other quality wing players like T.J. Warren, Josh Jackson and Troy Daniels. It appears that House is just insurance until Booker and Reed return at their designated time frames.
With Jones gone and the fact that the Suns can’t sign any G-League player to a 10-day contract until Jan. 5, it makes sense to use the two-way contract on House.
Next: With Booker out, this is Jackson’s time to shine
House is a solid player that the Phoenix Suns have added to ensure the depth at the wing position. As an insurance policy for the Suns, fans shouldn’t get to excited about him as a long term piece with the franchise.
