Conclusion
Terry Rozier has some definite NBA attributes. His speed, athleticism and defensive abilities will help him at the next level, but more likely than not, his lack of size will prove to be quite the hurdle for him to overcome in earning prominent minutes on an NBA team.
The last thing the Suns need right now is another raw wing prospect to develop, especially one who many not be able to move past the obstacles — namely, underwhelming perimeter shooting — in his path. At least with someone like Devin Booker or R.J. Hunter, the Suns would be getting an elite shooter in the process. Rozier seems to be a jack of all trades without being a master of any.
Even though he’s a good rebounder for his position, he’d be unlikely to help in the two main areas Phoenix really needs assistance: interior rebounding and perimeter shooting.
Add that to the fact that he’ll probably be selected right in the middle of Phoenix’s two picks in the draft and it’s pretty clear that Terry Rozier won’t be on the Suns’ board unless general manager Ryan McDonough decides to trade WAY down in the draft. Seeing as how Rozier didn’t even work out for Phoenix this summer, it’s unlikely he and the Suns are a fit on draft day.
