J.P. Tokoto And Richaun Holmes
Yet another ACC standout, J.P. Tokoto enters the 2015 NBA Draft relying on his athleticism, his leaping ability and his potential to be elite defensively. His length and his ability to guard multiple positions makes him a clear asset, but his streaky shooting and inability to create his own shot are what limit his game the most.
His junior season with the Tar Heels, Tokoto saw his numbers regress to 8.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game on 42.8 percent shooting. However, he also made 37.5 percent of this three-point attempts. Still, McDonough says he’s going to need to make defense his calling card until he can develop more consistency and range with his shot.

“You can tell he’s been working on his shooting and it has improved from what we’ve seen at North Carolina, but there’s still some work to do there,” he said. “He has a willingness and the ability to be a good defender and I think he’s got to embrace that role.
“Shooting is something that takes time for any of these guys from going to the college line to the NBA line, but he has a lot of things and does a lot of things that you can’t teach.”
As for Richaun Holmes from Bowling Green, he’s a 6’9″ forward coming off a senior season in which he averaged 14.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game. His defense and shot-blocking ability would make him an asset to the Suns, but his rawness offensively would need some work, especially when it comes to spreading the floor.
He is currently No. 43 on Ford’s Big Board.
