Conclusion
Johnson would be a great addition to the Suns’ frontcourt depth chart. He isn’t a starter and the chances are very good he would be a third-stringer for his first several years in the league, but he’d fit in perfectly.
He is what the Suns need: a locker room guy who is still young with room to grow. He’s a beast on the boards who makes that extra effort play. He’s a guy who can focus on being a defensive stopper, both on his man and in helping out his teammates.
He’ll most likely be there when the Suns pick in the second round, and unless for some reason they pick a center in the first round, they should get Dakari Johnson when they are on the clock with the 44th pick.
