The Pelican duo led their team while shooting 53% on 43 shots. Davis had nine boards and five blocks to go along with his 34 points. Holiday flirted with a triple-double collecting nine rebounds, seven assists, and also three blocks.

The Suns-star backcourt duo of Eric Bledsoe and Devin Booker struggled mightily only scoring 28 points on 29 shot attempts. Booker’s streak of 16 straight games with at least 20 points ended tonight while only accumulating 14 points on his 20 attempts. Booker had roughly five of his shots blocked tonight and it seemed as though nothing was going his way. T.J. Warren had a bounce back game scoring 20 points while swatting away three shots in 33 minutes.

The first quarter consisted of sluggish play by the Suns starters as Bledsoe picked up two early fouls and Booker shot 3-8. It was not until the second quarter that the Suns picked up the pace with the second unit leading the charge. The veteran lineup of Brandon Knight, Leandro Barbosa, P.J. Tucker, Jared Dudley, and Warren sparked enough energy to bring the Suns back to take the lead 39-37 with 3:47 left in the half.

The referees were letting them play in the first half with only six free throws attempted by both teams.

It remained a close game up until the end of the 4th when the Pelicans began to pull away. Watson used the small ball lineup of Barbosa, Knight, Booker, Tucker, and Dudley again to stay in the game that it proved not to be enough. At the 4 minute mark Watson substituted Tyson Chandler, Warren, and Bledsoe back into the game and the Pelicans took control. The smallball lineup did surprisingly well keeping pace even though Anthony Davis was having a monster game.

The Pelicans went on an 8-2 run at the end of the 4th to solidify the 111-106 victory. This victory broke a four-game losing streak, whereas the loss stretched the Suns’ new streak to two in a row.

This marks the 13th time this season where the Suns have had six players in double figures.
