We have hit trade speculation season in the NBA, and you better believe the Phoenix Suns are going to be involved this time around, whether they like it or not.
They might not actually make any deals, but because they are no longer above the second apron and have players and contracts that could make sense to move, speculation will be rife.
Trae Young is the superstar Suns should never pair with Devin Booker
So we'll get out ahead of the more outlandish suggestions now, and say that the Suns shouldn't even think about bringing Trae Young to The Valley to pair with Devin Booker.
There hasn't been a single rumor that we can see about this happening, but there is also no doubt that Young is available as his Atlanta Hawks simply look better without him now.
It won't take long for somebody to figure out that a combination of Jalen Green and Grayson Allen works financially for Young, while any package for the 27-year-old is surely decreasing by the day.

There would likely be whatever picks the Suns can cobble together to go into the deal, while Atlanta may also decide that a younger prospect such as Ryan Dunn, or even the suddenly visible Rasheer Fleming, should be included.
No matter how low the Suns could push down the asking price though, this is not the direction the organization wants to take. An undersized guard plus Booker is not the move.
Neither is going all in for Domantas Sabonis, a name that has actually been linked to the Suns in recent weeks, although it is easier to see the logic of that one.
He's one of the best offensive big men in the league, and he could actually play alongside current center Mark Williams too. But like Young that would be forcing a fit that is not currently there.
Instead owner Mat Ishbia and General Manager Brian Gregory appear to have finally figured out that letting a roster grow together, while also doing the best they can in the draft, is what will lead to success.
It is hard to argue with that assessment after what we've seen from the Suns so far this season, and shoehorning Young into the mix would be a disaster.
Think about how head coach Jordan Ott wants this team to play, and then try and picture the point guard successfully adapting to that style.
Collin Gillespie is the much better choice, although even he may see his role change once Green returns from injury.
Young's name is going to get brought up a lot in the coming weeks, and the Suns on paper look like a potential landing spot. Don't believe any of it, this would set the franchise back years.
