The Phoenix Suns had an incredibly balanced attack in their second straight win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday, as no less than seven players scored in double figures.
Two of those who got involved were backup point guards Jordan Goodwin and Jamaree Bouyea, the pair having quickly become crucial to head coach Jordan Ott's rotation each night.
Suns stole both Goodwin and Bouyea from under noses of everybody
It is crazy to consider that the Suns' front office could pull off two major heists like these, but that's exactly what they did in identifying the talent of this duo.
Goodwin had been in The Valley before, and was one of the better role players for the Los Angeles Lakers last season. Yet when they saw fit to ditch him, the Suns didn't hang about and brought him in.
A balanced attack ⚖️

There was a moment there when it looked like Jared Butler might get the last roster spot in Phoenix over Goodwin to begin the season. We're not ashamed to say we got it wrong at the time as well.
But Butler proved immediately through his defensive abilities and just knowing what this group needed from him and when that he was the right call. He has become such a reliable backup for the Suns' previous number two in Collin Gillespie, now that he is a deserved starter.
For Bouyea it was different, yet no less impressive. He is on his sixth team in four seasons, but it was clear outside of a tiny stint with the Miami Heat that he had never been given the chance to impress.
Phoenix gave him just that, and now he and Goodwin are ensuring quality point guard minutes for a roster struggled without a true one last season.
While much bigger names such as Ja Morant, Trae Young and LaMelo Ball are being talked about as potential trade candidates, General Manager Brian Gregory keeps finding veterans who can perform better than expectations to do the job.
If he can continue doing this as the Suns build another winner around Devin Booker, then they are going to become contenders again sooner than expected.
For now though they can enjoy the victory lap of having spotted not one, but a pair of floor generals that the whole league chose not to appreciate. They are a large part of the reason the Suns have won games and also survived injuries to key players up to this point.
