Phoenix Suns' owner Mat Ishbia has been adamant the franchise won't be making a splashy trade this offseason as they seek continuity from within, which is why they were not involved in the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes.

But with the Greek superstar now calling Miami and the Heat home, the Milwaukee Bucks have some assets they're not sure what to do with, while the Suns have a player they have shown interest in before.

Jalen Green is the scorer to get Bucks on the phone for future trade

If these rumors are to be believed, the Bucks attempted to trade for Green earlier this season, but were quickly shut down by the Suns. That made sense then, but less so now particularly with the bevvy of new players at Milwaukee's disposal.

Center Kel'el Ware is an obvious choice for the Suns to be interested in, and alongside Khaman Maluach and Oso Ighodaro he would solve their need for a long-term big immediately. It would also ensure Phoenix could move on from Mark Williams, who just turned in the best season of his career but who has been plagued by injuries.

It is not just Ware who the Suns should have interest in, Jaime Jaquez Jr. would be the perfect player for a Jordan Ott team. Imagine him alongside Dillon Brooks and Collin Gillespie as well, making an already annoying Suns team even more frustrating to play against.

If players are not what the front office in The Valley are after, then the Bucks have now come into three first round picks and a pick swap that should interest them.

Quite why the Bucks would give up any picks at a time when the NBA Lottery rules have changed is anybody's guess, but perhaps they really like the look of Green. If nothing else, adding him to the roster they now have would be a lot of fun and possibly a play-in team in the East.

The Heat have never shown any interest in Green, but Bobby Portis would be an interesting veteran to consider trading for as well. He was added to the Giannis deal, but they currently have no real interest in his services.

Phoenix needs to make a decision on Green quickly however, as having him on the roster is stopping them from adding the kind of player they need to succeed. There has never been a better time to engage with the Bucks on this.
