Is a reunion coming?

The Phoenix Suns are one of the top destinations for Chris Paul this summer, with the Clippers also in the mix. Bradley Beal's expected buyout from Phoenix could be what officially sends Paul back to Phoenix, benefiting the Suns in more ways than one.

The future Hall of Famer would be a much-needed point guard addition to Phoenix's roster (he wants a starting job). He'd help re-establish a culture in the desert, something that hasn't been present since he left a couple of years ago. One of the biggest perks of Paul's return would be something that hasn't been talked about a whole lot -- his mentorship to young players, like Jalen Green.

Green landed in Phoenix via the Kevin Durant trade. The 23-year-old was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 draft, spending the first four years of his career in Houston. He averaged 20.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game with the Rockets, shooting 42.2% from the field and 34.2% from three.

The guard didn't blossom into the star Houston hoped he'd be. Green unknowingly ended his time with the Rockets on a sour note, averaging 13.3 points per game in the playoffs, shooting 37.2% from the field and 29.5% from three. Keep in mind that it was his first-ever playoff experience, but still, fans expected more from Green.

Chris Paul would be a great mentor for Phoenix's young players

The past couple of months were a whirlwind for Green, going from competing in the playoffs to being traded to a new team. It's a lot of change to handle, and having a mentor like Paul would help him acclimate. It's a role that CP3 knows well. The Spurs signed him last offseason so that he'd get the ball to Victor Wembanyama and mentor their young core.

Paul has been in the league since 2005. Green was three years old at the time, and Khaman Maluach, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, wasn't even born yet. Having at least one good veteran for young players is a must, and the Suns would have the best in Paul. He's essentially a player-coach.

If Beal is bought out and signs with the Clippers, Paul could choose the Suns as his next team. They never should've gotten rid of him in the first place. He can provide as much value off the court as he can on it.

There is only one Chris Paul.
