There is no doubt that Collin Gillespie has been one of the best finds by the Phoenix Suns this decade. A two-way player who earned a full-time contract and has thrived.
But with Gillespie potentially leaving The Valley this summer, who is next up to unexpectedly take their place in the rotation?
Jamaree Bouyea well on his way to being next Gillespie
The answer to this question is easy, because we are watching it unfold right before our eyes with how Jamaree Bouyea has played this season.
The point guard is on his sixth team in four seasons, and although on a two-way contract himself he has seen plenty of action in Phoenix so far this season.

Even with Jalen Green back in the mix, he recently played 18 minutes off the bench in a loss against the San Antonio Spurs.
The 26-year-old has played 48 career games in the league, and 29 of those (and counting) have come with the Suns. Already he is such an important part of their second unit.
It seems obvious that Bouyea will have his contract converted to a standard one before long, especially considering the Suns literally turned away a point guard they traded for at the deadline.
Cole Anthony could have been an interesting option in The Valley, but instead the organization opted to save some money in trust in what they've got with Bouyea. It already looks like the right choice.
Assuming they can get Bouyea back on a minimum deal next season, which is not guaranteed given how well he has played, then he will continue to be a key part of their second unit.
Much like Gillespie he is the perfect Jordan Ott guard. A team-first player who is an above average defender on most nights and makes the right decision more often than not.
The only difference is the 3-point shooting, and although Bouyea's 34.5 percent this season is credible, Gillespie has been elite at various stages throughout the campaign.
If he could somehow get closer to 40 percent then Bouyea really would be the next coming of Gillespie, and the ability of the front office to unearth these guys cannot be understated.
Five other franchises passed on keeping him around, much like the Denver Nuggets didn't see a need to keep Gillespie.
Getting such great value out of two-way players has helped the Suns stay in a playoff race this season, and there is no doubt Bouyea is going to go from strength-to-strength with the Suns.
