How do you think Devin Booker has performed for the Phoenix Suns this season? On a lot of nights he still looks like himself, and at 19-13 it's not like this is a sinking ship that needs to be saved by him.
But ironically it is the fact that this group has exceeded expectations, and that they have players and a head coach outperforming what many thought they were capable of, that has seen Booker end up in the position he now finds himself.
Suns need Booker to break out of shooting slump fast
Again it needs to be said before continuing, Booker remains the franchise's best player, cornerstone and on any given night their offensive fulcrum. He's still giving them 25.3 points and over six dimes each night.
For all of the talk of how good Dillon Brooks, Mark Williams and Collin Gillespie have been, he still doesn't have anybody close to his equal on a consistent basis to carry the offensive load.
Devin Booker is absolutely scamming the suns. This guy has 1 good game every 10 games 😂 75 mill a year for someone who’s not even all star level insanity

Jalen Green has barely played and even Grayson Allen, who has done his best as a secondary creator, has been missing for some time now with a knee issue.
But despite all of this, shooting less than 30 percent from deep on 5.6 attempts per night (which granted is just below his career average of six) is not good enough if the Suns actually want to make the playoffs.
Which we believe they will, but if Booker could rediscover his killer mentality of the Chris Paul era, and his clutch shooting that came with it, that would be even better.
Those who say he has lost a step or is beginning to regress have it all wrong, this is still a guy who had no problem allowing Kevin Durant to come in and be the star and is again struggling to navigate the best way to lead this roster.
Brooks is the brash one, while even Gillespie doesn't mind getting into it each night with opponents. So it has felt like Booker has again taken a back seat of sorts while this has happened.
That has also unfortunately meant his 3-point shooting has fallen off a cliff (this is a career low number at 29.6 percent right now), while he just doesn't appear to have the gravity offensively that we are used to seeing.
He also hasn't had Green alongside him yet either, and that is going to change in the New Year. So while haters are quick to put him down and some fans are worried, don't buy into any regression.
What is also concerning is the fact that fans are seemingly forgotten how good he can be too, with proof coming in the form of Booker finishing 15th in the opening round of NBA All-Star voting. Unthinkable a few short seasons ago.
Devin Booker is going to figure this out, like he always has, and it will come at a time when his team needs him to have some amazing scoring nights (which he has had already). The Suns just need to ensure this happens as soon as the calendar flips to 2026.
