LeBron James to 76ers keeps one unlikely horror scenario alive for Suns

As you are already well aware, LeBron James shocking the world and signing with the Philadelphia 76ers means absolutely nothing to the Phoenix Suns.

It's always nice to see the Los Angeles Lakers lose out on a top 25 player and get nothing in return, while also taking a step back in the process. Other than that, Phoenix doesn't care.

Chances of James Harden landing with Suns somehow still above zero

In the days leading up to James making his announcement, it was presumed by many that he would close out his career with a third stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Former Suns forward Markieff Morris was on board, and in the process wanted to see James Harden head to The Valley for Jalen Green.

That obviously won't be happening now, but there is no telling how hurt Harden may have been by all of these rumors. A player who has had no problem moving on to a new situation many times before, and who likely would have made way for LeBron if Jaylen Brown hadn't been traded to the 76ers.

This isn't even the first time the Suns have been linked with Harden, although it always felt like they were being used as leverage by the player to go to where they wanted.

The problem now is that he may scratch the itch owner Mat Ishbia clearly has for trading for star players, and he would be an immediate upgrade alongside Devin Booker. Postseason flameouts and all.

The only way that works is through a sign-and-trade given he declined the player option on the final year of his contract and wants to land one final payday. Something Ishbia would gladly give him if he were able to, it is getting him to Phoenix that would be the hard part.

Dillon Brooks is eligible for an extension, while Miles Bridges won't be far behind.

All indicators right now point to the pair getting new deals, which would make paying Harden what he wants impossible. There is no way the franchise wants to go above the second apron after how badly it scarred them in the past.

Harden does not look like a Jordan Ott player either, and coming off a wonderful maiden campaign at the helm that also has to be taken into consideration. James Harden to the Suns has never made sense and it never will. Even if it is what Morris wanted to see happen.
