Nice to hear.

The Phoenix Suns don't exactly miss Kevin Durant, and the current Houston Rocket has been kept busy in the last few days with plenty of rumors flying around about his use of social media.

Despite being one of the best pure scorers of all-time, and a superstar who did not leave Phoenix under the worst of circumstances, he is no Chris Paul either.

Durant gives Suns flowers for excellent season

But in speaking to the media (including Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic) in the aftermath of All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, Durant was quick to praise the campaign that the Suns have put together, saying that -

"Teams that you didn't think would be in the running like Phoenix who nobody thought would be this good go out there and looking like a contending team". Contending team you say?

While we might stop just short of calling the Suns true contenders this season, they are 32-23 and Durant is clearly aware that they are going to be a tough out come the playoffs.

Just getting there with this roster would be Devin Booker's greatest achievement in The Valley, but the way they play every night it feels like they are going to make it.

Durant and the Rockets are sure to be waiting, what a first round matchup that would be, particularly as Durant didn't win a single postseason game in his two full seasons in Phoenix.

The 37-year-old certainly didn't have to shout out his former team like this either, and in doing so he has once again shown the duality of his personality.

How can a guy who is so purely about the hoops but who also understands that this is a business also be the same individual who appears to engage in some of the most ridiculous back-and-forths on social media we have ever seen?

This is somebody who, whether those burner accounts are real or not, got into it with a Rockets fan with his actual account not so long ago.

Then to come out and give a classy and measured response in person only adds to the confusion around who he is as a player and his legacy in this game.

It didn't work out between the Suns and Durant, but neither side has ever blamed the other and both have kept it moving in search of success. There's a lot to be said for that.
