The Phoenix Suns might not be contenders next season, but they sure are going to be a lot more fun to watch than they have been in recent seasons in 2025-26. The front office is again re-tooling everything around Devin Booker, only this time they're not cutting corners and are instead trying to start from the ground up with the roster.
One rookie is already drawing comparisons to Booker himself at Summer League, while Ryan Dunn certainly looks the part and could finally be their solution to a problem they created when the organization traded away Mikal Bridges. With Dunn, Oso Ighodaro and Khaman Maluach being joined in The Valley by Dillon Brooks, the Suns are sure to improve defensive under head coach Jordan Ott.
Victor Oladipo's Vegas workout could be answer to their offensive woes.
Although so much of what is going on in the desert revolves around the youngsters in the league, 33-year-old former Indiana Pacers' All-Star Victor Oladipo also held a private workout in hopes of making it back into the league again. Oladipo hasn't been seen since 2023, although the rumors around the workout are both that it was "well attended", and that Oladipo was in "excellent shape".
Assuming all of this is true, it would be foolish of the Suns not to enquire about his services. Financially it makes sense because he would be willing to play on a minimum deal, which until Bradley Beal leaves town is all the Suns have access to when trying to entice free agents. Oladipo could have taken his millions and called it a career already though, so you know it's not about the money.
The Suns also have an open roster spot, and actually currently have a second thanks to Koby Brea signing a two-way contract with the franchise. There are obviously many directions they can go with those free spots on their roster, but a veteran who could help them offensively now that Kevin Durant is no longer around seems like a smart idea.
REPORT: Victor Oladipo is seeking an NBA comeback & has been impressing teams during workouts in Las Vegas with international pros, according to Jeremy Woo of ESPN.

Oladipo could not only take the spot soon to be vacated by Beal, but he's also more of a point guard than any of Beal, Booker or Jalen Green. The Suns are in real need of a floor general for the new season, with General Manager Brian Gregory already terrifying fans by bringing the concept of "Point Booker" back up recently.
Even if this all goes to plan for the player, being a starter again in the league seems a stretch at this point. But Oladipo could split his time in Phoenix both between setting up his teammates, but also taking some of the creation duties off both Booker and Green. Imagine staggering his minutes so that he is almost always on the court with one of those two players, an exciting prospect.
Really though after nailing the draft - and rebounding well from appearing to get fleeced by the Houston Rockets in the Durant deal - adding a veteran on a cheap deal who has the skills to take some pressure off Booker feels like a no-brainer. It is unknown at this point if a member of the Suns was at that workout but if they were, then they are trying all avenues to improve this roster.
