Was going to happen eventually.

The Phoenix Suns dropped the first game of a six game swing East on Tuesday, falling to the Miami Heat despite a fine fightback almost saw them come all the way back and snatch a win.

This was a night that could have long-term implications on their season if Devin Booker misses any amount of time, and he gave fans reason to worry in the third-quarter.

Dillon Brooks up to old antics with flagrant foul

Brooks can count himself fortunate that Booker's potentially rolled ankle took some heat away from what was a dumb play from him near the end of the game to effective give Miami the win.

The 29-year-old pulling off one of the more blatantly foolish offensive fouls you will see in dragging the shoulder of Andrew Wiggins down having released the ball.

We will stick up for Brooks in one aspect of this moment however, because it's not like he attempted to rip the shoulder out of the socket.

Rather he put his hands on Wiggins where he shouldn't have, and upon realizing he was likely going to get called having applied some downward pressure, promptly let go and fell to the ground.

It is still a foul, a flagrant one in fact as it is hardly a natural motion, but Wiggins definitely did his best to sell the contact. This is par for the course of the Wiggins experience, and fans shouldn't be surprised.

We've always known he has the potential to let his emotions get the better of him on the court, and that is part of the package when he is on your roster.

He is an emotional leader who can go over the line, but the Suns can hardly be upset by what they've gotten from the Canadian international this season.

He has been a brilliant co-star for Booker, and has softened the blow on Jalen Green missing so much time through injury better than anybody could have expected.

We'd love to tell you Brooks won't do something like this again, or that the Suns will never end up losing a game because of his actions at a key moment. We would be lying.

This is who he has always been and will continue to be, and it is exactly what head coach Jordan Ott needed on the roster. Few players care about every possession like "The Villain" does.

He's not afraid to laugh at himself or mix it up with opponents, and this has led to the Suns being at or above league average on both ends of the court this season. You keep doing you Dillon, we wouldn't have it any other way.
