Devin Booker has been enjoying himself at the NBA's All-Star Weekend festivites in Los Angeles, even if he came up just short in winning the 3-point competition for a second time.

The fact he looked like he cared so much about it at all was great to see, particularly given the dunk contest that followed was a dud for the ages.

Booker a huge fan of playing alongside Dillon Brooks

During media availability in the run up to the All-Star game itself, Booker was asked about playing alongside Dillon Brooks this season, and his answer will bring a smile to the faces of Suns fans.

Booker couldn't say enough good things about the Canadian international, and made a point of talking about how talented a player he actually is.

"It's been a pleasure playing with him (Brooks), we've enjoyed it. Still have a lot of work to do, but our chemistry has grown. He is who he is, and we love him for it. He's a hell of a hooper, which a lot of people don't talk about. I enjoy being his teammate".

That last sentence might look so simple and obvious, but it shows just what kind of leader Booker is. He doesn't have to do a lot of shouting and gesturing on the court to try and rile up his teammates.

Instead he understands that speaking about Brooks in this way to the media (and it all seems genuine by the way) can only lead to good things happening and an increase in chemistry.

That duo have powered the Suns to a 32-23 record, and Brooks has been just as big a fan of playing alongside Booker as well.

In the lead up to All-Star Weekend, when his own case for making the game was at its peak, Brooks poured cold water on it happening.

With the opportunity to big himself up, he instead said that Booker was the most deserving player on the roster of being selected.

Prior to that he had the self-awareness to say he understood why he was traded for Kevin Durant, and if you looked beyond the technicals you'll know he too has been a brilliant leader in The Valley.

Compare that with the departed Durant, and Booker never appeared this outwardly happy to be on the same team as him.

Brooks isn't obsessed with social media and clapping back either, which is one of the reasons Chris Paul has a better reputation in Phoenix than Durant at this point.

On the outside getting along with Brooks seems like it could be difficult at times. Only Booker doesn't feel that way at all, and with these two enjoying playing together the Suns will continue to defy expectations.
