Cryptic Devin Booker media post has Suns fans on high alert

It's probably nothing, right?

There is no doubt that Devin Booker is now the main man once again for the Phoenix Suns. In truth that was always the case for fans throughout Kevin Durant's time in The Valley, and yet the 28-year-old always did what he could to share the limelight with the now departed superstar. Ironically this could have been to his detriment, and we may see Booker unleashed once again next season.

Booker has been enjoying some time away from Arizona during the offseason, but he did not skip town as soon as the opportunity presented itself. If you follow him on social media, then you'll know he was out in the community for weeks after his side's terrible 36 win season ended, not shying away from the underwhelming campaign that 2024-25 was.

Booker's post while in Iceland might just be cause for concern.

Booker now appears to be in Iceland, which when you think about it is totally on brand for the star and his team. Whereas Durant can't seem to get off social media - and Bradley Beal gave his own two finger salute on socials when departing Phoenix - Booker's style has always been to say very little online and let his game do the talking.

But on his latest post on Instagram, Booker attached in Icelandic a caption that translates to "This Will Work Out". Despite never being one for posts that you can read into in different ways, it is hard not to think that Booker is commenting on the direction of the franchise and his part in all of it as he enters his prime.

Perhaps that is reading too much into an athlete who is simply enjoying some down time, but if that's the case why post that caption at all? It is understandable that Booker would be questioning where the Suns are headed, so much has changed in the four years since they were in the NBA Finals.

Chris Paul is an L.A. Clipper again, and instead he has nine new teammates to get to know ahead of next season. Many of them young players and rookies, with the organization appearing to be as far away from contention as ever before. That is not to say Booker is unhappy with his current situation, but there is also likely a reason his extension is structured the way that it is.

Then again maybe it is an acceptance from the player that it is all on him again - and the last time that was the case - it really did all work out as they made the finals. Booker will just have to be ok with not contending for the next couple of seasons at the very least - and if the team can't get back to their 2021 levels - his chances of ever winning in Phoenix may then be over. Enjoy the holiday D-Book.
