The Phoenix Suns started their big three of Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker in the first preseason game of the year against the Detroit Pistons. We finally got a peek at what this team can be offensively; at least, that’s what Frank Vogel said.

The three of them played well together. There was no shot-chucking, really, or guys wanting to hog the ball or possession killers. It was just three guys hooping, and all of them love to and just want to hoop. They coincided well in the offense, and with Nurkic, the new big man they traded Deandre Ayton to get, along with other pieces.

The Suns decided to sit their big three for their second preseason game, though, as their role players played a pretty good first half against the reigning champion Denver Nuggets, who played their starters, including Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, the entire first half.

Jusuf Nurkic did play this game in the first half, that is, and had some good moments as the guy on offense in the first quarter. Every possession went through a post-touch.

With the Suns sitting the big three for game two, there was a thought by a lot of Suns fans if we would see them again in the preseason or if we’d have to wait till the first game of the regular season. But, before the game on TNT, NBA insider Chris Haynes let everyone in on the Suns’ plans.

“The Suns’ plan is for the big three to play in two of the final last three games of the preseason,” Haynes said on the TNT broadcast.

The Suns play the Portland Trail Blazers in the next two games and then the Los Angeles Lakers in the last game of the preseason. Either way, we will likely see Nurkic vs. Ayton on both of their new teams, along with the big three, and hopefully against the Lakers, where we will potentially see LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

We will just have to wait and see.
