Phoenix Suns Superlative Stat 2: Free-Throw Percentage

I already highlighted this in another post, but it is worth mentioning again. Not only did the Phoenix Suns lead the NBA this season in free-throw percentage, but no other team in the history of the NBA has ever shot better from the charity stripe than the 2019-20 Valley Boyz.

The Phoenix Suns made 1,451 out of their 1,740 free throws this season, good for a record-breaking 83.39 percent.

This season, the next closest team, the San Antonio Spurs, shot 81 percent.

The Suns were led in free-throw shooting by, of course, Devin Booker, who was superlative in his own right, shooting an NBA-best 91.9 percent (minimum 150 attempts).

Of course, Phoenix would gladly swap out this record with a winning record, but regardless, being the best in NBA history to do a thing is a tremendous accomplishment, no matter what that thing is.
