In a Thursday afternoon route, the Phoenix Suns capped off their perfect bubble run, going 8-0 in the bubble and shocking the basketball world.
The Phoenix Suns have gone unbeaten in the Disney bubble, a perfect 8-0. And while there were many times fans could scream, “Ayton, oh!” when he hit his first career 3-pointers early on, and out of frustration when the ball bounced off his hands, now they can scream, “8-0!” with pride.
The Suns strolled to an easy win against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday afternoon that saw nearly flawless basketball executed by the men in orange and purple. To be fair, the Mavericks were without Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncic only played the first half, but don’t discount the quality of play the Phoenix Suns executed in front of a national audience on TNT.
You could tell the Suns hadn’t been on TNT much because Kevin Harlan and Reggie Miller kept flubbing player names early, saying, “Cam Johnston” and “Yevon Carter” in the first quarter.
Something tells me, though, they will be getting a lot more practice next season and one of the main reasons why is Devin Armani Booker.
The Phoenix Suns finished their seeding games strong.
Booker proved once again he is worthy of the Bubble MVP (even though it will almost certainly goto Damian Lillard). Booker had a smooth 27 points despite not making a 3, to go along with five assists and seven rebounds in just three-quarters of action.
Rubio was a masterful floor general once again, putting up 12 assists in limited minutes. Assists were the theme of this game, in general, as the Suns had 34 in total, cementing their league lead in this category for the regular season.

As for Jevon Carter and Cam Payne, they must have been kept in a bubble as children, because they have looked incredibly comfortable in this environment. Those two, along with Dario Saric, have provided incredible bench play. Those three guys combined for 40 points and will make it difficult for the front office to let them go in the offseason.
Regardless of what Brooklyn does or does not do against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Suns playing fun basketball in front of a national audience has been huge. If the Blazers win tonight and the Suns season is over, there are going to be a lot of upset basketball fans (not even Suns fans) who don’t get to see a Booker vs. Lillard matchup in the play-in games. And that’s a good thing.
Thursday’s showcase to cap off a perfect bubble season has created a buzz around this team that will bleed into next season, whenever it is next season starts.
This Disney experience is something no one can take away from the Phoenix Suns. Eight and freaking 0.
