The Perception of Devin Booker

It has been no secret to NBA players and Suns fans how good 23-year-old Devin Booker is. Unfortunately for Booker, the Suns’ struggles over the years have hidden how truly special he is.

Zack Lowe, writer for ESPN, wrote a great snippet on Booker’s recent play that is worth reading.

The shot heard ‘round the bubble over Kawhii Leonard and Paul George got the Sports Center highlight, but the 4-0 record along with the normal outstanding and efficient offense is stripping the volume scorer perception that hovers about Booker in NBA circles.

Remember, it was only months ago that a certain ESPN analyst thought the Lakers could trade Kyle Kuzma and a first-round pick for Booker, one of the top young players in the NBA.

Booker has made the most of his time in the NBA bubble to this point. He has managed to change the basketball narrative around himself. Devin Booker has officially ascended into being known as one of the very top young players (not top gunners) in the NBA.

The shot against the Clippers also let NBA types relive his other big shots, helping him be known as the closer that great teams need.

And while it is great for individual players to have perceptions changed on them, it is most important perceptions change about the organization as a whole:
