Could Ricky Rubio have finally joined the Phoenix Suns in the Disney bubble? If one cryptic tweet is to be believed, then absolutely yes.

The Phoenix Suns official Twitter account sent out a fairly cryptic tweet Tuesday afternoon that might indicate Ricky Rubio has finally joined the team in Disney World. The Spanish Maestro has been conspicuously absent from any official team photos and videos, and it is almost certain he (along with Aron Baynes, Elie Okobo, and Jalen Lecque) did not fly with the team to Orlando.

Has Ricky Rubio returned to the Phoenix Suns?

What starts off as a coy promotion of the team’s two best passers, slams an exclamation point statement that we will see Devin Booker and Ricky Rubio in two days (referencing the Suns’ scrimmage game against the Utah Jazz on Thursday).

I may have been wrong with social media clues the first time I tried to put these puzzle pieces together, but I’m not sure why the team would claim we will see Rubio in two days unless he has touched down in Orlando and rejoined the team.

Rubio and Booker combined for 15.5 assists per game this season thus far, which has played a huge factor in the overall league-leading 27.2 assists per game the Phoenix Suns have put up this season.

If true, Rubio enters at a good time. While it would have been great for him to have had these last two weeks to work out with the team, at least he will get three scrimmage games (or as Dario Saric would say, friendlies) to tune up and get back in game shape before the regular season resumes July 31st against the Washington Wizards.

Rubio is an essential piece to this Phoenix Suns team if they have any shot at making a serious run for the playoffs. Without him, the Suns would be in big trouble, so if this news is true, it serves as a huge morale boost for fans hoping to see their team make some noise inside the bubble.

Rubio will, however, need to work on his Spikeball game, as his teammates are a step ahead of him there.

UPDATE: Marc Stein Confirmed Ricky Rubio has, indeed, rejoined the team.

Next. Rubio, not Booker, is the Suns MVP. dark
