2012

Steve Nash
Marcin Gortat
Jared Dudley

In this abbreviated year due to the lockout, the Phoenix Suns somehow managed to go .500. I say somehow because there was essentially no star power on this team whatsoever. Steve Nash was 37 years old and not exactly the version of himself that made him a 2-time MVP (should have been 3-time) winner.

Marcin Gortat, of all people, led the team in scoring that season at just 15.4 points per game. After that, the selection of talent drops dramatically.

I can’t pick 39-year-old Grant Hill, rookie Markeiff Morris was not good back then, and Channing Frye would be…okay…maybe.

So, this gets us to Jared Dudley. He was second on the team in scoring this season with 12.7 per game. This wasn’t the mediocre player that was on the Suns last season, this was a slightly-better-than-mediocre player from 2012.

Yeah, I’m not loving this team, but we have to work with what we’ve got.
