The Conspiracy Theory

James Jones knows LeBron James. They are very good friends, in fact. Many argue that Jones’ friendship got in the way of helping the Suns last season when he (via Robert Sarver) let Tyson Chandler go to the Lakers for free, helping L.A., while also hurting the Suns by losing a potential tradable asset.

LeBron recently hung out with Kyrie Irving, who is presumably leaving the Boston Celtics with the public belief being that he will sign with the Brooklyn Nets.

More from Valley of the Suns

Whether or not they talked the point guard’s future or not, Kyrie has undoubtedly already made his decision about where he wants to go next, those plans have been leaked through the appropriate channels to the necessary power players (such general managers and other management officials) so that the teams involved can at least on paper being to make the necessary preparations.

That said, James Jones also played with Kyrie Irving. The two were teammates for three years in Cleveland.

Whether or not they were or are still as close as Jones and LeBron are, who knows. But it would not be illogical to believe that Jones could be privy to Kyrie’s plans via either Kyrie himself, or through LeBron.

With so many obvious connections through relationships, any public statements about possible Phoenix Suns dealings with D’Angelo could either come back to bite Jones via tampering charges, or cause a rift in current friendships, as any information leaked would come back to Jones.

And, nothing can actually begin until June 30, while Phoenix can do absolutely nothing until after  Kyrie makes his decision public.
