Review of five PGs the Phoenix Suns could trade their first round pick for
By Adam Maynes
Number Three – Jeff Teague
If Jeff Teague were 24, he would probably be the perfect point guard for the Phoenix Suns, and one very much worth the sixth overall pick in trade.
A solid shooter and fantastic distributor, Teague would remind Suns fans of Steve Nash in his style of play, and within the right offense might even produce similar statistical lines as Nash did in is prime in Phoenix.
However, as I have said for many players speculated as potential trade targets this offseason (most notably Chris Paul), the Suns wouldn’t be trading for prime Jeff Teague, but would instead be acquiring 31-year-old Jeff Teague.
If Phoenix was one piece way from becoming a championship contender he would be the perfect acquisition, but for a team in the process of rebuilding, the sixth overall pick would be far too much to give up.
That said, Brad speculated that Minnesota could swap firsts as well giving Phoenix the 11th overall pick which is somewhat enticing, although again, the acquisition of a 31-year-old point guard (who Phoenix would have to re-sign after this season too), just does not make a lot of sense.
