MONTREZL HARRELL (6-8 240, 24-years-old)

Season Stats : 64-63 shooting for 11 pts, 4 rebs and 0.7 blks in 17 mins

At first glance, Montrezl Harrell stats are not all that impressive. Look again.

How many minutes did he average a game? 17? And he still put up 11 points and 4 boards?

That would make his per 36-minute numbers in the area of 23.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. Now we’re talking. He’s gotten better every year of his career too.

At 24-years-old with 3 years of experience, he’s still more polished than a lot of the youth on this young squad. Yet, he still has so much room for development.

He is by no means a 3-point shooter. He’s made two long bombs in three years. And his free throw percentage leaves much to be desired (63% accuracy from the stripe). But, he is a very efficient scorer and can put up numbers in a hurry.

In 14 games this season where he has played at least 25 minutes, he’s made 60% of his shots and put up 16.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1 block per game.

Montrezl can heat up. And he’d be a good fit next to Deandre Ayton. Double team the #1 pick and Harrell will punish you with his efficiency.

Keeping in mind that he only averaged 17 minutes per game this season, look at these numbers. He scored at least 15 points in 25 different games, grabbed at least 7 rebounds in 14 games, and swatted at least 2 blocks in 11 games. That’s definitely appealing and worth a look close up.

For someone that’s only 24 and under the radar, he could be a very good acquisition to a team. For a very good price. Why not the Suns?
