Mohamed Bamba

If the Suns draft Bamba, then this might be the worst pick they could make.

Bamba is viewed as potentially a great defender like Rudy Gobert because of a 7’10” wingspan. He also projects as a Clint Capela on offense, setting screens and rim running.

However, although he has worked on his jumpshot recently, he projects as the worst shooting big in the top five. Bamba also doesn’t have as much lateral quickness as Bagley or Jackson, so if Bamba can’t be a perimeter defender and stretch the floor for Ayton the two won’t play well together.

Bamba won’t be able to wait at the hoop like Rudy Gobert because Ayton will have to do that too. The Suns would most likely end up trading one of the two.

Michael Porter Jr.

Michael Porter Jr. would be the biggest dice roll at number four of this group of possible selections.

Porter was projected number one coming out of high school, but played 53 minutes in college due to injury. Similar to Kevin Durant, Porter is a 6’10” guard, and has a great jump shot. If he is as good as everyone thinks he could be, and could avoid repeat injuries, he would be a bigger steal than Joel Embiid.

He would be another wing on an already wing loaded team, but could easily become the best player of the draft. It just depends on how he recovers from his injury.
