All signs are pointing to Jason Kidd becoming the new Head Coach of the Phoenix Suns.

This notion is driven by two recent reports.

One that management and ownership are willing to spend like they have not in years past. Over the last few years thev’e had a turnstile of different philosophies. That brings me to point two how other reports have surfaced where Jason Kidd seemingly worked his way out of Milwaukee just for a shot at the job in Phoenix.

Those two circumstances alone should be enough to warrant some intrigue from fans. However it’s not a given, one because it’s going to cost a lot to convince any worthwhile head coach to install his philosophies here. And two the fact that Jason Kidd in his most recent interview is unpacking his bags in the Valley.

Those developments alone should give indication that management could consider him as an option. His philosophies aside Jason Kidd is the exact a coach team like this needs. He is a champion, he is a soon-to-be Hall of Famer and most importantly he’s a former Phoenix Sun. He knows that bringing a championship to Phoenix wood catapult him into Arizona lure – maybe even a future Senate nominee.

This would be considered a major hire for many reasons, but one that cannot be overlooked is his role in the development with superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. He would give attitude to the team as well as develop this young core to reflect that attitude.

Yes we are hoping management nails this hire and do so  following a process something similar to what the Arizona Cardinals have done their last two head coaching opportunities they had. That is casting a wide net and scouring the NBA landscape for the best option available.

The fact they could start and end that search in their own backyard, you gotta be Kidding.
