Reed has received exceedingly limited minutes, and in those minutes he has done nothing to impress. There was, and I am sure still is, some hope that he can become a bench player for an NBA team at some point in the future. A 3 and D-type player, and an early second round pick, there was a lot of hope that Reed could be one of the annual diamond in the rough finds that teams dream of finding.

So far, he has been nothing of the sort. Fighting through injuries, and playing very little since his revoery, Reed hasn’t shown anyone hardly anything in game minutes and thus hasn’t proven to be a player worth banking on for any period of time.

If he plays anymore this season he needs to do two things: play hard defense and hit some 3’s at a clip above 30%. If he does this, he stands a better chance of being on this roster beyond 2017-18’s final 23 games. If not, then his time in Phoenix may very well be short lived.
