Phoenix Suns: Josh Gray will be signed to a second 10-day contract
It should be no surprise to any Phoenix Suns’ fans to see the franchise preparing to sign point guard Josh Gray to a second 10-day contract.
Josh Gray signed a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns on Feb. 2nd, which meant that Feb. 12th his stint with the Suns would’ve ended. However, Gray’s stint with Suns will be doubled in length on Feb. 12th, according to Scott Bordow of azcentral.
As seen in the tweet above, Bordow explained that signing Gray to a second 10-day contract is mainly due to the injuries of Tyler Ulis and Devin Booker. While having another able body that can play point guard for the Suns is great, Gray has been solid for the club and has earned this second 10-day contract.

In the four games that Gray has played for the Suns, he has averaged 17.5 minutes, 6.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.5 blocks, while shooting 30.0 percent from both the field and 3-point line. While his shooting has been poor, he has been good defensively. Gray’s best game with the Suns came against San Antonio Spurs. While he only shot 25.0 percent from the field in the contest, he did end the game with nine points, four rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
Gray still has a way to go before earning himself a contract for the rest of the season. He will have to show more consistent shooting once he is signed to a second 10-day contract. His 30.0 percent shooting won’t get him anywhere in the NBA.

Gray has been able to provide solid back up minutes for the Phoenix Suns during his first 10-day contract. While his shooting has been inconsistent, his defense has been solid. Once he’s signed to a second 10-day contract, Gray will have to show improved and consistent shooting in order for him to earn a contract for the rest of the season.
