One of the highest rated freshman coming into college basketball, DeAndre Ayton has lived up to his top billing so far this season. Despite Arizona’s early season struggles, Ayton has put up fantastic numbers so far this year. In six games, he is averaging 20.3 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.

Impressive for a big man, DeAndre Ayton is also averaging just over 70% from the free throw line. In the era of modern basketball where big men need to be able to shoot, Ayton is proving that he has all of the tools necessary to be effective at the NBA level. The Suns definitely could use a mobile, athletic center to add to their young core of Devin Booker, Josh Jackson, Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender.

Keep an eye on DeAndre Ayton as he continues to refine his already polished game throughout the rest of the college basketball season.
