During the last week days Devin Booker has been red hot for the Phoenix Suns, Booker may have found a new level to his game during the week.

Phoenix Suns’ fans shouldn’t be surprised to see the franchises’ best player as a recipient of the player of the week award. The award usually goes to the player that performs beyond themselves in the week’s span and Booker definitely played very good basketball. Granted there was a hiccup in the week, but overall Booker’s week was phenomenal and his hot shooting at the end of the week plays a big part in him getting this award.

More from Suns News

Against the Miami Heat on Nov. 8th, Booker had a overall solid night with 30 points, three rebounds, six assists and one steal. His poor shooting did hurt his stat line however, he shot 9-23 from the floor and 1-6 from the 3-point line. The only saving grace for Booker that game was that he shot a great 11-13 from the free throw line.

Booker’s performance against the Orlando Magic was his only bad game of the week, to be fair it was also the team’s biggest loss of the week as well. He only had nine points, four rebounds, five assists and one steal. He shot 30 percent from the field and didn’t make a single 3-point shot out of the three he attempted.

Booker and the Suns were able to bounce back in a big way with a win over a playoff contender in the Minnesota Timberwolves. Booker had 35 points, nine rebounds, six assists and one steal, while making 13-22 shots from the field and 5-9 shots behind the arc. He had this stat line while being guarded by Jimmy Butler, who’s one of the best wing defenders in the NBA.

In a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Booker exploded for another 35 point game. He shot 14-27 from the floor and 4-9 from 3-point land, while adding four rebounds and three assists. Even though he was unable to lead the Suns to a victory over their division rival, Booker did everything in his power to keep the Suns close in the game.

Honorable Mentions

There are two honorable mentions. The first is T.J. Warren who was on a tear offensively, averaged 24 points, 5.3 rebounds, four assists, .3 steals and .8 blocks during this week. Warren improved his scoring from when he did win player of the week last week. Dragan Bender also gets an honorable mention based on his overall solid week. He averaged nine points, 2.8 rebounds, .5 assists and .3 blocks per game. His numbers may not be flashy, but it did show he could be more potent on offense.

Next: Warren: Just how good was his stellar week

With three 30 plus point games for the week, Booker lands the award. For Nov. 8th-13th he averaged 27.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, five assists and .8 steals per game. Agree or disagree, post your opinion below of which Phoenix Suns’ player you think deserves to be player of the week.
