Most rebuilding teams want two things when trading away a valuable veteran: youth and talent. The Phoenix Suns are no exception to this.

The Phoenix Suns franchise has gone through two major events that happened almost simultaneously. Starting point guard Eric Bledsoe tweeted an ominous status that appeared to make him seem finally done with the franchise and head coach Earl Watson being let go by the organization. The team is now in the process of trying the trade the disgruntled point guard, but according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, it may not be easy to move the borderline All-Star.

This shows the Suns front office has a very short list of young talented players that it would be willing to swap Bledsoe for. Regardless of who they may have targeted, the Suns most likely will need to slightly lower their exceptions. This isn’t because Bledsoe is not worth a young rising star, but rather his tweet and his poor play to begin the season has hurt his value as Wojnarowski stated in his tweet. Bledsoe’s 15.7 points per game is the lowest in his career since arriving to Phoenix.

With that in mind, the Suns will most likely have to settle on a deal for a young raw talent or a player drafted high that has not lived up to expectation yet. Combined that with a veteran and another draft pick, a deal for Bledsoe could be reached. Khaleel Adbullah of Valley of the Suns came up with a extensive list of possible Bledsoe trade scenarios. Not to say that his scenarios will or will not happen, but Adbullah does have several trade scenarios in which Bledsoe’s trade value is more realistically gauged.

Next: Earl Watson is out. Why and what’s next?

With the Phoenix Suns asking price where it’s at right now, it’s unlikely a deal will happen anytime soon according to Brian Windhorst. Hopefully, the Phoenix Suns’ front office can pull off a trade that lands them an extremely talented young player. However, with Bledsoe’s trade value down, fans should temper their expectation a bit. Still, even with Bledsoe’s value down, the Suns should still be able to gain several young and valuable assets to the roster.
