Pacific Division Rankings: SG Edition
In case you missed the last edition of the Pacific Division Rankings, this is a series where we rank the top five players, coaches, etc in the Pacific Division.
Last week, we analyzed the point guard position. We looked at a few honorable mentions (De’Aaron Fox, Shaun Livingston, Milos Teodisic, Tyler Ulis) before we hit the stacked top five of Lonzo Ball, George Hill, Patrick Beverley, Eric Bledsoe, and Steph Curry.
This week, we are moving on to the shooting guard position. While two-guards simply do not have the same level of glamour, fame and prestige that their point guard counterparts do, they should not be treated with any less notice.
Stereotypically, point guards are often seen as “prima donnas” while shooting guards are simply looked at as their backcourt assistants. In the modern NBA, however, this is no longer the case. From the days of Michael Jordan back in the 90’s, to Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade in more recent years, the shooting guard position has evolved into a very star heavy position.
Shooting guards are scoring focal points of every NBA offense. Some are sharpshooting assassins. Many are dominant slashers. These players are some of the biggest superstars in the entire league.
So, which Pacific Division team’s shooting guard will top this list? And which team will have the most entrants, between the honorable mentions and the actual top five? Let’s find out by taking a look at this list.
