Jeff Hornacek was good, don’t get me wrong. But there is not a chance in the world that he was better than Devin Booker even after Book’s second season comoared to Horny’s entire career.
Does Horney deserve a spot on the Utah Jazz’s all-time team? Absolutely. But he does not deserve a spot on the Suns’, especially above Devin Booker?
No. Way.
Granted he’s only played two seasons, but recently one of the all-time great’s, Kevin Durant said of Booker that “he’s next.”
Hornacek had the ability to play both point guard and shooting guard, and unlike several of the other pure shooters on this roster, did take advantage of the 3-point line during his prime in Phoenix.
However, Booker too can play point guard, and is already a better pure scorer, and potentially dominant scorer, in a way that Hornacek could only imagine. Unless something unimaginable happens, Booker is already on his way to becoming one of the franchise’s all-time greats.

Should Hornacek be considered in that conversation? Not a chance. Devin Booker should not only be on this roster, but, according to 2K’s own rating system, is already better. Hornacek? 2K has him rated as an 86 on their roster. Devin Booker? Also an 86. What put’s a 20-year-old Booker ahead of Hornacek? Booker isn’t legally allowed to buy alcohol.
Oh yeah, and:
DEVIN BOOKER ONCE SCORED 70 POINTS IN A SINGLE GAME.
Your Honor, the defense rests.
