On March 24, 2017 the basketball world was all eyes on 20 year old Devin Booker. He dazzled the Boston crowd as he scored an NBA season high 70 points, the first time since 2006.

He broke the Suns’ record for most points scored in a game and the TD Garden record for most points scored in the building.

But, even after that performance people still doubt Booker’s potential. Mainly because he only shot 42 percent from the field this past season. He can certainly score with the best of them but the question is how can he impact the game in other ways.

More from Valley of the Suns

If Booker can improve his 3.2 rebounds per game and 3.4 assists per game while scoring more on fewer shots then he would establish himself as one of the best guards in the NBA.

He’s still only 21 years old but this upcoming season everyone is expecting him to make that leap that will put him ahead of his peers.

Improving from 22 points per game is not an easy task but it’s certainly one Booker is capable of doing.

With his work ethic and basketball IQ, don’t be surprised if he’s an all-star in the stacked west or if his holding the trophy for most improved player of the year by April.
