Phoenix Suns legends as Game of Thrones characters

6. Walter Davis – Jorah Mormont
Walter Davis is perhaps the greatest player in Suns’ history that fans rarely seem to talk about. Like Stoudemire and K.J., he burst onto the scene immediately, averaging 24.2 points per game and earning Rookie of the Year, an All-Star selection, and second team All-NBA his rookie year. He would go on to make six all-star teams for the Suns in the late 70’s and early 80’s and eventually joined the Ring of Honor. This is a pretty accomplished career, especially considering the fact that he’s the Phoenix Suns’ all-time leading scorer to this day.
I don’t know why we never hear about him as much, but he did struggle with a cocaine addiction toward the end of his time in Phoenix. This culminated in “Waltergate,” (I hate how every controversy ends with “gate” now), when Davis testified on the drug use and trafficking of several of his teammates in exchange for immunity. The controversy rocked the franchise and hurt his relationship with the team and the fanbase. Shortly afterward, Davis signed with the Denver Nuggets, retiring with them only a couple years later. He later served as a broadcaster for the Nuggets and has stayed involved with the Denver community. He has since repaired his relationship with the Suns, however.
Jorah Mormont is an accomplished Knight from Bear Island in the North. However, after facing financial problems, he desperately turned to selling poachers he caught on his land into slavery. After Ned Stark heard of this and condemned him to death, Sir Jorah fled across the sea instead. There he ended up with Daenerys Targaryen, becoming one of her most loyal supporters. Even though he spent most of his life a Northerner sworn to House Stark, some controversy caused him to take off. Now he is as happy as ever serving Daenerys.
