1. Help The Suns Reach The Playoffs

At this point in time, we don’t know if Markieff Morris really wants to be in Phoenix or if he was just saying that to boost his trade value. We don’t know how long this change of heart will last, and we don’t know if he’ll still be in a Suns jersey past the NBA trade deadline next February.

But what we DO know is that if Keef is still on the roster come April and May, the easiest way to redeem himself is by being an integral part of a playoff team. And if the Suns do make their way to the postseason for the first time since 2010, you can be guaranteed that Morris will have been a major factor in meeting that goal.

Keef burned a lot of bridges over the summer, and truth be told, that match had been lit dating back to the 2014-15 season. Between the technical fouls, the comments about the home fans and the felony aggravated assault charges, it was hard to focus on his on-court improvement when he was constantly estranging himself from the common fan.

That being said, there is one thing that can be said of any high profile athlete, no matter what sport: winning cures all ills. Is that the way the world should work? Probably not. But if Keef is able to stay out of trouble, reconnect with the fans, improve as a player and help the Suns reach the playoffs, it won’t be long until everyone forgets about his unfortunate offseason comments.
