Sell: Any Shooting Guard Not Named Brandon Knight
Don’t do it. Don’t be the guy who takes Devin Booker as a keeper. Don’t be the guy who drafts Archie Goodwin late thinking he’ll get time at the one and the two. Just don’t do it.

Last year, Eric Bledsoe averaged 34.6 minutes per game, while Brandon Knight averaged over 32 minutes per game. If they do that again, that means at most there would be 29.1 minutes per game left for the shooting guard, which sounds great. However, we don’t really know how that’s going to shake out at this point.
Sure, Booker had his moments at the Summer League, but he may not be ready to compete at the NBA level at just 19. Just a couple of seasons ago we saw Archie Goodwin struggle to get acclimated right away, and while I’d consider Booker the better player coming into his rookie year, you can’t really count on much yet.
Meanwhile, Archie Goodwin will be in his third NBA season, but he’s not that valuable as a fantasy player overall, and certainly not if he’s splitting minutes. And as far as the argument of him playing point guard minutes is concerned, it’s quite doubtful he’ll see very many minutes there.
With Bledsoe, Knight and Ronnie Price on the roster, the 48 minutes per game are pretty much locked up in that regard, not to mention Goodwin isn’t the strongest ball handler either. As I wrote in an earlier article, at the Summer League Goodwin made Kelly Oubre Jr. look like Kawhi Leonard on the defensive end.
Then you add to that the addition of Sonny Weems, who will be scrapping for minutes as well. Weems appears to have developed a bit of a jumper, as he shot above 40 percent from three in Europe last year. And that’s not even the end of it…
You also have to deal with Tucker playing the two at times, especially if Warren really takes off. Last year, when Tucker was in the game, he was the shooting guard approximately 37 percent of the time, logging somewhere in the neighborhood of 890 minutes (11.4 per game) as the team’s two, per 82games.com.
Just don’t do it. Don’t try to beat the system and take one of the Suns’ bench guards; there are simply better ways of going about it. And if you get tempted, just imagine that “oh don’t do it” Vine going through your head as you click the “draft” button and add one of those guys to your team.
