What are the chances both Myles Turner AND Devin Booker are off the board by No. 13? According to most mock drafts, those odds are pretty good. But if Booker somehow slides and Turner is off the board, the Suns could opt to bolster their three-point shooting attack with a long range specialist capable of alleviating some of Phoenix’s spacing issues.

In his freshman season at Kentucky, Booker solidified his case as the best pure shooter in the 2015 NBA Draft class. He made 41.1 percent of this 3.7 three-point attempts per game, averaging 10 points per game for the most well-rounded collegiate powerhouse in the nation. He’s an unbelievably smart basketball player and at 6’6″, he has the size to play the shooting guard position no matter what team he’s draining threes for next year.

Booker isn’t perfect. He’s not a great ball handler, he doesn’t attack the rim very often and he’s not one of the better athletes in this draft class. But he’s also an underrated speedster, which he proved when he recorded the fastest time in the lane agility AND shuttle runs at the NBA Draft Combine.

The biggest problem here is that the Detroit Pistons (No. 8) and Charlotte Hornets (No. 9) will be giving him strong consideration before the Suns get a chance to snag the kind of three-point sniper they need to spread the floor. If Booker and Turner were somehow both available at No. 13, the Suns would also have quite a tough decision to make.
