Conclusion

Russell is a tremendous talent, with a high ceiling and like most prospects, has room to improve. His basketball IQ, ball handling, shooting and passing ability are all NBA-ready, something you can say about only a handful of the players in this year’s draft. Every time I see him he reminds me a smoother, bigger version of Mike Conley.

There is little to not like about this player with his one area of weakness being his quickness off the dribble and strength in the paint, but there are so many other intangibles that mask those “weaknesses.”

Unfortunately, there will not be any trades involving the Suns and the top picks this year. As much as they love their point guards, even they would resist making any colossal moves to snag Russell.
