Overview

As the 2015 NBA Draft approaches, we’ll be taking a look at the top prospects in this year’s class to gain a sense of what the Phoenix Suns should do with their pick. Today, we’ll be taking a look at Chris McCullough.

More from Suns News

McCullough probably isn’t on many people’s radars outside of the Syracuse fan base, but this 6’9″, 199-pound power forward certainly can play. And since nothing in the draft is predictable once you get into the teens (which, the Suns actually start the teens off in this year’s draft at No. 13), we might as well examine yet another stretch-four as we try to kill time until Jun. 25.

At 20 years old, this freshman out of Syracuse has a 7’3″ wingspan and a 9’1″ standing reach. He averaged 9.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 blocks and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor and on paper, seems like an early first rounder…until you remember one major injury-related complication.

The question is, is there any reason to think he’d be anything but a major reach at No. 13? Or that he’d somehow fall all the way to the Suns at No. 44? Here’s a look at his limited college career, NBA future and potential fit with the Suns.
