Overview
As the 2015 NBA Draft approaches, we’ll be taking a look at the top prospects in this year’s class to gain a sense of what the Phoenix Suns should do with their pick. Today we’ll be taking a look at Willie Cauley-Stein, although I guess now it’s technically Willie Trill Cauley-Stein.
Cauley-Stein measured as the second tallest player at the combine, both with and without shoes, in both cases coming in at right around seven feet tall. In addition to his size, Cauley-Stein possesses the ability to defend multiple positions, which is one thing that makes him so intriguing as a prospect. However, there are still legitimate questions about his offense that could cause him to slip on draft day.

Still, it doesn’t seem likely that he will be on the board when the Suns pick at 13, but if he is, it would be a really positive scenario for the team. Cauley-Stein has massive upside, and if he could get his level of skill on offense anywhere close to that of a league-average player, he could become an absolutely prolific addition on the right team.
Whether or not it turns out to be Cauley-Stein that they draft, the Suns’ biggest area of need is definitely a big man. If the front office wants to insist on drafting the best player available rather than drafting for need, then Suns fans should be hoping that Cauley-Stein (or a similarly gifted big man) slips to them on the board, or they could be in for a long night and a long year.
With that, let’s take a look at Willie (Trill) Cauley-Stein’s 2015 NBA Draft profile.
