1. Amar’e Stoudemire

If Phoenix ever gets the ninth pick in the draft again, Suns fans should start rejoicing in the streets. Like Marion, Amar’e Stoudemire was the ninth overall pick in his draft (2002) and he also spent eight seasons in Phoenix.

For awhile there, STAT was legitimately considered one of the best big men in the NBA. One of three players in franchise history to win the Rookie of the Year Award, Stoudemire averaged 26.0 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steals per game on 56 percent shooting in his best season in Phoenix.

HIs partnership with Steve Nash represented the most dynamic pick and roll duo since John Stockton and Karl Malone, he was the king when it came to posterizing people, he was a four-time All-Star and he earned four All-NBA selections.

His defense was a consistent weak spot, and he and the Suns could never get over the hump and reach the NBA Finals. But he was easily among the greatest players to ever suit up in the purple and orange, so putting him at the top of the list of the best Suns picks ever is a no-brainer.
